TheraPhil is a new manufactured cell product to prophylactically treat neutropenia in patients undergoing chemotherapy. The novel manufacturing process, developed by researchers at the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, expands and differentiates precursor cells into therapeutically relevant doses of neutrophils, which show the same functionality as endogenous neutrophils. TheraPhil uses an unlimited source of progenitor cells to provide an off the shelf product.
