The PowerWINDow brings an alternative design philosophy to wind power generation, addressing several of the challenges currently facing this form of renewable energy. Developed at the University of Wollongong, the PowerWINDow features significantly lower blade speeds and a modular design.  Benefits include reduced noise and elimination of separation requirements.  The design is more resilient to ground turbulence and can be installed within and around residential communities. It also has the potential to be significantly less expensive than existing solutions.
