Researchers at The University of Queensland have developed a benign food-grade polymer gel which will overcome the issues relating to patient compliance with swallowing oral medications.

Pharma-GEL is the only off-the-shelf benign gel based product that assists with patient swallowing, without interfering with any of the physical or chemical properties of the medication.

The gel can be used to coat medications and can be taken with whole oral medications. If  the medication is suitable for crushing, it can be mixed with Pharma-GEL, without a drug-nutrient interaction.
