Pepfactants Pty Ltd was established by UniQuest to commercialise Pepfactants®, the surfactant-based innovation originating from research at Australian Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology.

Pepfactants form a new class of surfactants with the unique ability to reversibly stabilise or break emulsions and foam. Surfactants are used in formulated products to boost performance. Pepfactants are believed to be the first surfactants that can truly reversibly control the formation, stabilisation and destabilisation of emulsions and foams. The novel quality of Pepfactants lies in controlling the behaviour of the interfacial layer in an emulsion or foam system and hence control the performance of emulsion or foams.
