Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is the 9th largest segment of the CNS market with 8% annual growth. Studies indicate that poor management of ADHD with therapies such as psychostimulants can lead to long-term adverse effects on academic performance, vocational success and social-emotional development.
University of Wollongong researchers have developed a Neurocognitive Training Software package for optimising attention, impulse cotrol and working memory functioning of children with ADHD. The NTS software combines a number of game-based tsks in combination with an attention-focused neuro-feedback comonent. A pilot study has shown significant improvement in overt behaviour of children with ADHD following regular use of the program.
