Accurate radiation exposure and protection of normal tissue are important considerations for a patient undergoing radiation therapy. MOSkin technology, from the University of Wollongong, for real-time in vivo dose measurements has been applied to a  ‘Prostate Immobilizer Balloon System’, which supports adaptive radiation therapy for prostate cancer patients. MOSkin clinical dosimetry has been validated for accuracy within commercial treatment planning systems in the rectal cavity for both external beam radiotherapy and HDR Brachytherapy.
