Medication non-adherence is widely understood in the health professions to be the single biggest cause of treatment failure in chronic disease management. Developed at the University of Wollongong, Medication Alliance is a health staff training program proven to reduce patient nonadherence across a range of health conditions. Although the workshop-based version of Medication Alliance has been successfully run in a number of healthcare organisations in Australia and the United States, overwhelming customer feedback has indicated that the program would be better disseminated in an online format.
