Researchers within The University of Queensland's Faculty of Arts have developed LanguageMAP, based on the most up-to-date understanding of how second languages are acquired.  LanguageMAP is a web-based multimedia system that tests specific micro-skills involved in language use – grammatical (sentence structure and usage) and lexical (vocabulary breadth and fluency).  It includes text, images and speech components. 

LanguageMAP is delivered on-line and operates as an add-in to a standard web-browser. Students and teachers of English, located anywhere with access to a web browser, are able to conduct real-time tests of English skills.
