HerdVac, a University of Queensland start-up, is a food safety vaccines company developing a novel Salmonella vaccine that provides superior protection against Salmonella dublin in calves.   This live attenuated S.dublin vaccine candidate utilises a novel selection method and showed excellent promise via both oral and injectable administration. The effectiveness of the vaccine in providing cross-protection against S.typhimurium has also been established.
