HBV-based VLPs displaying immune-regulatory molecules

Researchers at The University of Queensland have developed a novel modification to Hepatitis B-based virus-like particles (VLPs) (in current HBV vaccine), that substantially enhances the ability to produce VLPs coated with potent immunoregulatory ligands.

The platform delivery technology significantly improves VLP production, may lead to an improved Hepatitis B vaccine, and will also potentially lead to direct anti-cancer or immune-based therapies for cancer and autoimmune diseases.
