Feed Forward Torque - Full range sensorless controller for permanent magnet motors

Researchers from the University of Technology, Sydney have developed an improved sensorless controller for AC permanent magnet motors which is ideally suited for servo motors and top loading washing machine direct drive motors. Feed Forward Torque Control provides high torque and fast speed changes around zero speed. The controller also has low sensitivity to motor parameter changes and reduced current band-width requirements, allowing the use of lower cost microcontrollers.
