C-Sign

Mater Medical Research Institute investigators have been working to characterise a novel cancer-promoting signalling pathway. The C-Sign pathway is mediated by the oldest known proto-oncogene, Src, and a cell surface protein called CUB domain containing protein 1 (CDCP1). CDCP1 is a substrate for Src family kinases (SFK).

The main application for this technology is the treatment of cancers that activate SFK/CDCP1 signalling to promote progression.
