Once again International
Projects recognised the contribution made by our consultants
with the 2008 UniQuest Best Practice in International
Development Assistance Award. As with the previous
awards, all of our staff participated in the nomination
and selection process which resulted in a clear voting
majority for Livingston Armytage, a legal and judicial
specialist.
A formal presentation took place
at Brents – The Dining Experience on Friday
5 February 2009 at an evening dinner with partners.
As well as a unique certificate signed by UQ’s
Vice Chancellor, Professor Greenfield and David Henderson,
the Award included an engraved commemorative UQ sandstone
clock.
Livingston (Liv) was selected for
his outstanding contribution to the achievement of
project goals, exemplary professionalism and relationships
with clients, problem-solving capabilities, and excellent
work ethics. A brief history of Liv’s involvement
with UniQuest follows:
Liv has a successful track record of work with
UniQuest over the last eight years. From 2000 to 2001,
Liv was UniQuest’s Team Leader for
the ADB-funded Strengthening Legal Education and Judicial
Training Project in the Maldives.
Since 2003, Liv has completed
13 AusAID Period Offer law and justice related assignments
for UniQuest to the value of over $0.5 million. Liv
is currently the Legal Expert on the Samoa Law and
Justice Sector Plan, and has previously worked on
successful AusAID law and justice sector assignments
in Cambodia, Fiji, PNG and the Asia Pacific Region
in general.
Liv has the ability to form strong
and lasting relationships with counterparts based
on trust, understanding, reciprocation and respect.
In particular, the Samoan Attorney General specifically
requested to AusAID that Liv assist with developing
the Samoa Law and Justice Sector Plan.
Further, Liv constantly monitors
and re-evaluates his work to ensure that the fundamental
goals and objectives of the assignment are met, and
that ultimately, the clients and partner countries
are pleased with the outcomes.
