Frequently Asked Questions

UniQuest acts as a link between UQ researchers and external clients. Through our Consulting and Research Division, we maximise opportunities for UQ researchers to apply their knowledge and earn additional revenue to assist their research through consulting or research and development contracts.

The Consulting and Research Division can add value by offering:

  • A consultancy Pricing Spreadsheet to assist academics in calculating the cost and sale price of consultancy and contract research projects
  • Contract negotiation and review
  • Risk management - highlight business risks
  • Advice on commercial rates
  • Assistance with preparing and submitting tender documentation
  • Comprehensive insurance cover, independent of UQ
  • Quality Assurance system (ISO9000:2000)
  • Project financial management and reporting
  • A report template to aid formulation and formatting of final reports. (Should you have any difficulties in downloading this Word document please contact us on 3365 4037.)
  • An experienced specialist consultancy team whose advice and support can help save consultants time

If an external client contacts a UQ researcher directly, or a past client makes contact with a new project, UniQuest can still be utilised to undertake the administrative processes necessary to confirm and complete the contract.

Smart Business System

Our Smart Business System allows academics and researchers to manage their consultancy or product services within their own Faculty/School/Centre.  The system tracks milestones, captures client contact details and gives academics and researchers the flexibility and ownership in relation to project management, new consultancy business and managing additional stages to existing scopes of work.
