UniQuest is The University of Queensland's main commercialisation company

Governance

UniQuest is owned by The University of Queensland (UQ) through its holding company – UQ Holdings Pty Ltd.
UniQuest has an independent Board of Directors, led by Ms Mary Boydell since her appointment as Chairman in 2016.
Our Chief Executive Officer, Dr Dean Moss, provides advice to UQ’s President and Vice Chancellor Professor Peter Høj, Provost Professor Aidan Byrne and other members of the UQ Senior Management Group.
UniQuest’s staff work closely with their UQ colleagues, including those in the Research Partnerships Office, UQ Advancement (alumni and donors), and UQ Global Engagement.
UniQuest advises the Research Partnership Managers (RPMs) in UQ’s Research Management Office regarding intellectual property and other commercialisation terms and conditions when they are drafting research grant contracts.

Our shared aim is to:

  • Encourage research alliances and commercial partnerships between UQ and industry;
  • Promote UQ researchers and their research, and
  • Enable UQ’s new knowledge, products and services to benefit society.

We share our parent company, UQ Holdings Pty Ltd, with another of UQ's commercialisation companies JKTech and pre-seed venture fund Uniseed.
