Professor Mangan has extensive industry consultative experience – including Taskforce, Commissions of Inquiry, and Review Committees – and has provided extensive public sector policy advice. He is a skilled economic modeller and a leading researcher in labour economics, business finance and policy, human resource management, management and quantitative economics.  He has developed expertise in the economics of professional sport and sporting labour market.

Professor Mangan has given expert opinion on the labour market relating to damages for personal injuries – for example, what the individual may have earned, what occupations they are capable of, and employment opportunities – as well as the global financial crisis’ impact on particular industries.
