Impact of climate change on cattle industry; nutrition impacts on cattle; effects of climate change on animal production.

Dr Gaughan has been working with groups in Australia, USA and Italy on animal-related climate change issues for more than a decade. He can advise on the impact of climate change, particularly heat stress, to the cattle industry as well as strategies to reduce impact.

Dr Gaughan is leading a $1 million research program examining the effects of climate (and nutrition) on cattle performance. In addition, he is also the Chair of the Animal Biometeorology Commission of the International Society of Biometeorology which is modelling the effects of climate change on animal production.
